Engagement option · All four services
Ongoing relationships, across all four services.
Consulting, research, the Emerging Markets Desk and the India Desk are each available as an individual project or as an ongoing retained relationship. This page explains the second form: what it holds, how it is scoped and how it runs. It is an engagement option, not a separate service.
Why an ongoing relationship
The premise
Questions recur
Most organisations do not have one question. They have a stream of them, arriving on the calendar of committees, results, policy and markets. Answering each from a standing start means paying for the same context to be rebuilt every time.
Context is the asset
An ongoing relationship keeps the context on our side of the table: your positions, plans, comparators and priors. A new question starts from there rather than from a cold scoping exercise, which is why a retained answer arrives faster and lands closer to the decision than a one-off one can.
Scope, not subscription
A retained relationship here is not a subscription to a feed. It is analyst capacity with a remit, a cadence and access agreed in writing, and re-scoped as the remit moves. The question and the scope decide whether new work is covered by the relationship or needs a separately agreed assignment; it does not automatically include every unrelated question.
What each service looks like, retained
Consulting · Research · Emerging Markets Desk · India Desk
-
Consulting
An ongoing advisory relationship
The decisions that recur (before committees, after shocks, when a market or a policy moves) researched from context you no longer have to re-explain, with the larger ones scoped as defined pieces of work inside the relationship.
-
Research
Ongoing research support
Standing questions answered on an agreed rhythm, maintained data behind them, and rapid responses between them, with the deeper questions graduating into studies scoped from your context.
-
Emerging Markets Desk
A retained specialist relationship
Continuous comparative research across the emerging markets relevant to your organisation: recurring notes, dashboards, event-driven briefs, rapid responses, research calls and committee briefings.
-
India Desk
A retained specialist relationship
The firm’s deepest continuous capability: India’s economy, policy and markets, read from India and set against its emerging-market peers, with a monthly research note and discussion and rapid responses between them.
How an ongoing relationship runs
Four steps, then a standing capability
-
01
Define the remit
The markets, sectors, companies and question types the relationship covers. Broad or focused, and changeable by agreement as your exposure changes.
-
02
Agree cadence, formats and access
What recurs, what is event-driven, who on your side receives what and in which form, and who on our side you speak to. Written down before it opens.
-
03
The relationship runs
Notes, briefs, calls and maintained data arrive on the agreed rhythm, with rapid responses and deep dives inside it. The team already knows your context, so no question starts cold.
-
04
Re-scope as the remit moves
A market enters or leaves the set, a theme becomes standing, a cadence changes. The relationship is re-scoped in writing, not silently re-priced.
A retained relationship is analyst capacity, not a product feed. It does not manage assets, execute trades, sell financial products or provide personalised regulated investment advice.
Describe the questions that keep arriving.
Tell us the markets and decisions they touch and who answers them today. You will get a considered reply and a straight view on whether a project or an ongoing relationship fits, and in what form.
